UKTF to Compete at Battle on the Bayou, Stanford Invitational & Texas Relays This Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky track and field program is set to spend the week in three different states as they will split the squad to attend the Battle on the Bayou hosted by Louisiana State University, the Stanford Invitational hosted by Stanford University, and the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas from March 27-30.

Kentucky’s sprinters, hurdlers, and field event competitors will participate at the Battle of The Bayou on March 29-30 while the distance runners compete at the Stanford Invitational on the same weekend.

Southeastern Conference indoor pentathlon champion Charity Hufnagel will start her outdoor season at the Texas Relays on March 27-28 taking part in the women’s heptathlon.

The University of Texas will host the Texas Relays in Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium with the heptathlon beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET/10:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday. Wednesday’s heptathlon events include the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200 meter dash.

Hufnagel will conclude the heptathlon on Thursday with the javelin throw, long jump, and 800 meters.

LSU will host the Battle of the Bayou at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium with a tentative start time of 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. CT on Friday and 12:00 p.m./11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Stanford University will host the Stanford Invitational at the Cobb Track and Angell Field with the Wildcat’s first event starting at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT on Friday. The schedule is tentative and subject to change.
