Jordyn Rhodes Signs with Iceland’s Tindastóll

by Greg Welsh

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jordyn Rhodes, the all-time leading goal scorer for Kentucky women’s soccer, has signed a contract to continue her soccer career professionally with the Icelandic club, Tindastóll.

Tindastóll, based in the town of Sauðárkrókur in northern Iceland, competes in the Besta deild kvenna, the top-tier women’s league in Iceland featuring 10 clubs.

“I am very grateful and excited for this opportunity to start my professional career with Tindastóll,” Rhodes said. “I can’t wait to take this step in my career and get with the team. They have been so welcoming and it’s a place I felt was a great fit for me. I also want to thank Kentucky and all the people here for everything they have given me these last four and a half years. Without them, none of this would be possible. I have been able to grow so much during my time here, not only on the field, but as a person. It has been a pleasure to represent this school and I’m going to miss it!”

Rhodes’ 45 career goals at UK are the most of any women’s soccer player at the University all-time. She also ranks third in program history in points (104), second in games played (85) and second in shots (234).  Rhodes is a two-time First-Team All-SEC selection, one of just six players in program history to be picked to the conference’s first team multiple times, and a three-time United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honoree.

A native of South Lebanon, Ohio, Rhodes is one of three players to record multiple hat tricks at Kentucky alongside Arin Gilliland and Cheryl Shimovetz. She led or co-led the Wildcats in goals scored in all five of her seasons in the Bluegrass.
