High School: Lettered in baseball, football and basketball… Hit .521 as a senior with six home runs and a .930 slugging percentage… Posted a 12-3 record over his junior and senior seasons… Fanned 88 in 46.0 innings pitches his junior campaign… Selected to play in 2001 East/West All-Star Game… Voted Region I Baseball MVP… Rated as a Top-10 Prospect at Teamone Midwest Showcase at Notre Dame… Voted to All-WKC team after junior and senior years.
