1997 (Freshman): Played football at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W. V.

High School: Did not begin playing football until his senior year at Chantilly HS in Centreville, Va. ? Starting kicker for a team that went 14-1 and won the Virginia Class 6A state championship ? Made 31 of 31 extra points and totaled 33 touchbacks on kickoffs ? Coached by Danny Meier ? Three-year letterman in soccer in which he played every position except goalie ?
