Summer
Played on the same summer league team as UK teammates Chase Greene, Braden Kapteyn and Cory Farris, the Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League … The UK foursome helped lead Amsterdam to the league title … Started nine games during the summer, posting a 4-3 record and a 2.02 ERA, hurling 49 innings with two complete games … Struck out 42 with only 14 walks, allowing opponents to hit for a .208 average, with only 37 hits allowed and 11 earned runs.

2009
Started the season strong, getting the starting assignment in UK’s second game of the year against James Madison … Tossed five shutout innings in his first collegiate start, allowing only two hits, striking out three and issuing just one walk … Allowed four or more runs in his next four starts, suffering a loss to Evansville … Best relief outing of the year came in a pressure-packed road situation at New Orleans when he tossed the final 1.1 innings of the game, striking out two … In his win at New Orleans, he had to pitch with limited assistance from a depleted bullpen … Pitched in two SEC games, going a combined 1.1 innings, tossing a scoreless frame at Ole Miss and getting one out at Florida … Battled injury in 2009, limiting his effectiveness after the first weekend.

High School
One of the top right-handed pitchers in the state, earned first-team all-state, as a senior and second-team all-state as a junior … As a senior, posted a 1.07 ERA and an 8-2 record, striking out 84 in 65.1 innings, walking just 22, while saving three games … As a junior on the mound, posted a 0.43 ERA in 65.1 innings of action, striking out 111 and notching a 10-2 record … During his junior season, earned all-district, all-region, and second-team all-state honors … As a sophomore, earned a 1.89 ERA, an 8-2 record, striking out 56 in 56 innings, walking only four and saving four games … On the mound as a freshman for Elizabethtown, posted a 4-2 record, a 2.98 ERA, striking out 40 in 40 innings, saving six games … Four-year letterman for coach Don Pitts at Elizabethtown High School … A standout two-way player in high school, hit .346 with 11 doubles, three homers and 18 RBI, stealing 29 bases as a senior … Stole 82 bases during his three years as a position player … Helped lead team to the district championship as a senior, junior and freshman … A four-year letterwinner in basketball, as well as running cross country sophomore year … Led basketball team to a district runner up finish as a senior.
