A late addition to UK’s school record fourth-ranked recruiting class in 2009, Greene was an accomplished high school shortstop locally, who emerged late in the recruiting scene after picking up pitching … After a great performance in the NYCBL, Greene will be expected to take the next step in his sophomore season, adding depth to the UK bullpen.

Summer
Had a breakout summer on the Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League, joining UK teammates Sean Bouthilette, Cory Farris and Braden Kapteyn in leading the Mohawks to the league title … Led the team and ranked third in the NYCBL with a 0.71 ERA, pitching in 16 games with one start, totaling a 3-0 record … Worked 25.1 innings, allowing only 11 hits and two earned runs, walking 14 and striking out 25 … Allowed opponents to hit only .128.

2009
Pitched in five games as a true freshman, tossing 5.2 innings, with three strikeouts … New to pitching as an accomplished high school position player, Greene was forced into action due to an injury depleted UK pitching staff … Tossed a scoreless inning at Coastal Carolina, fanning two … Got one out against Georgetown College, the final out of the game in a 12-5 UK win … Recorded two outs against Cincinnati, walking two and striking out one … With UK falling behind South Carolina early in the series opener, Greene was called on to fill innings, going 3.1 frames with seven hits and five runs allowed in a 20-19 South Carolina win … Pitched next against Evansville, an 11-7 loss for UK, getting one out but allowed four hits, five runs, with one walk and one homer allowed.
