Pre-College: Rainwater, a two-sport athlete at East, excelled in basketball as well as softball. Rainwater has won half of the eight district championships she’s played in and has been to the state tournament twice for softball.  “We are excited to welcome Sarah to our team this fall,” UK head coach Rachel Lawson said. “She is a very athletic player that has the potential to add speed and depth to our team. She’s a local kid that plays with a lot of passion and knows what being a part of the Big Blue Nation is all about.” Whilst playing for East Jessamine High School just outside of Lexington, Ky., Rainwater was named the 2015 Kentucky 2-A State Player of the Year, after batting over .330 in her senior season.  She was named a 2015 participant of the Kentucky High School East/West All-Star game representing Region XII. She was also selected to the All-Star team for the East/West game in 2014 where she represented Region XII.  Her accomplished career at East Jessimine High School concluded with her being named a WKYT (CBS-Lexington) All-State Team member after the completion of the 2015 season.
