Olding joins the Wildcats as a native of Chichester, England – along the country’s southern coastline. She has played for England club powerhouses Chelsea FC and Brighton Hove Albion in addition to her work with the Lionesses.

“I’m very excited to be at Kentucky,” Olding said. “Frist of all, the facilities blew me away. It is a very professional set-up and they are just amazing. But, another major factor in my decision to come to Kentucky was that the coaches were amazing. They made me feel at home. The preseason so far has been very positive – and we are working very hard. I can’t wait for the season to start.”

Sure to be one of the best freshman midfielders in the country this upcoming season, Olding played in all three matches of England’s run at the World Cup in Jordan a year ago – in addition to appearing in the group stage matches, semifinals, and third-place game of the European Championships for England in 2016. In the qualification stage, Olding scored a goal for the Lionesses – on March 10, 2015 against Estonia.

Olding will be eligible immediately for the Wildcats, and has been involved in all preseason activities within the team since the team reported for camp on Aug. 2. The season for Kentucky women’s soccer begins on Aug. 18 at Wisconsin.
