LEXINGTON, Ky. – Dazia Lawrence, University of Kentucky women’s basketball recent graduate, signed a contract to play professionally for KBF PEGA 03 in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague in Kosovo, Europe, for the upcoming season.
The Wildcat guard will travel to her new, temporary home in late August and remain there at least until the end of the season in April.
“This is a moment I have dreamed of my entire life and now it is real,” Lawrence said. “I get to keep doing what I love at the next level and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity. I want to send a huge thank you to every coach, teammate, trainer and supporter who’s been a part of this journey – you helped make this possible. The grind continues but today we celebrate. Let’s go!”
“I am beyond happy for Dazia and the new basketball opportunities that lie ahead for her,” Brooks said. “In one short year, she captured the hearts of Big Blue Nation and quickly became a favorite in our locker room. She was the heart and soul of our team and will forever be one of my favorite Wildcats. There is no doubt in my mind that she will make the same impact on her new team!”
During her time in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague, she also may have opportunities to play in the Kosovo Cup, the Liga Unike and the Euro Cup.
Lawrence played and started all 31 games last season, joining All-American Georgia Amoore to become one of the most veteran backcourts in college basketball in 2024-25.
