Kentucky Women’s Soccer Signee Teagan Myers Named Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  Kentucky signee Teagan Myers has been named the Gatorade Colorado Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the 2024-25 school year after a stellar senior campaign at Fossil Ridge High School.

The Fort Collins, Colo. native led her school to their first Class 5A Colorado state championship, scoring the game-winning goal in the championship match against Castle View High School. Myers was named the Colorado Class 5A Player of the Year and aided her team to a 15-1-4 record. A defender, Myers led a back line that conceded just 13 goals in 20 matches and posted 11 shutouts. She also got in on the attack and posted four goals and two assists. Myers is set to join the Wildcats this fall.

Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating the nation’s best high school athletes for their success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states across 12 different high school sports and awards one national Player of the Year in each sport. The election process is administered by the Gatorade Player of the Year Selection Committee, which leverages experts including coaches, scouts, media, and others as sources to help evaluate and determine the state winners in each sport.
