Jansen Preston Selected as Academic All-District Honoree

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jansen Preston, a senior captain on the 2024-25 Kentucky men’s golf team, has been named an Academic All-District At-Large selection by College Sports Communicators, it was announced on Tuesday.

The award recognizes Preston for his combined performance in competition and in the classroom during the 2024-25 school year. To be eligible for the honor in men’s golf, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the team’s events.

Preston posted a career-best scoring average of 72.82 this past season and had 15 rounds at par-or-better, ranking second on the team in both categories. He was in the lineup for the Wildcats in all 11 team events and totaled five top 20 finishes, including a career-best result of T10 at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Preston also was Kentucky’s low finisher at the SEC Championship, placing T32 at even-par for the tournament.

A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Preston earned his bachelor’s degree in communication this spring. He is a multi-time Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll awardee from his time at both Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
