Hamilton Sparks Game Two Win Over No. 17 Mississippi State
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team picked up its 29th win of the season on Senior Day Saturday at John Cropp Stadium, knocking off No. 17 Mississippi State in game two of a doubleheader, 14-8. Game one went the way of the Bulldogs, who beat UK 12-2 with a seven-run seventh in the first game of the twin billing.
Karissa Hamilton went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in the second game of the series as Kentucky snapped its five-game Southeastern Conference losing streak with the victory to pick up its seventh SEC win of the year. Hamilton’s four hits set a new career high as she had a single, double and pair of home runs, each two-run shots, as the Wildcats powered past three MSU pitchers in the game.

Sarah Haendiges got the final three outs of the game for UK, allowing only one run on three bloop singles against the junior, as she also recorded a strikeout on the day.

Sydney Langdon had a terrific start, but the Bulldogs got to the Wildcat bullpen and scored seven seventh-inning runs to pull away from UK late and end the game.
