
Kentucky STUNT Sweeps Doubleheader on Sunday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team ran its record to 4-0 on the young season with a pair of victories on Sunday in the Bluegrass Classic inside Historic Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky beat Mercyhurst 23-0 before topping Northern Kentucky by the same score, 23-0.
In game one, Kentucky took control early in the game, winning all four points in the first quarter, partner stunts. In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky again won all four points and the Cats took an 8-0 lead into the half.
The third quarter saw UK win four points again, stretching the lead to 12-0. In the fourth quarter, the Cats took home 11 of 12 possible points, falling just short of a second perfect game in two days.
Against Northern Kentucky, Kentucky again established an early lead, winning three points in the first quarter compared to none for NKU. UK extended the lead by winning all four of the points in the second quarter and the Cats held a 7-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Kentucky claimed all four points in jumps and tumbling, meaning the Cats would take an 11-0 lead into the final stanza. During the fourth quarter, team routine, UK won all 12 of the possible points to claim the victory.
Kentucky returns to action on Sunday, traveling to Michigan to face Central Michigan and Alma. The UK-CMU game is at 1 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the Kentucky-Alma contest at approximately 2 p.m.
