Men’s Soccer Hosts Old Dominion for Senior Night

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 2 Kentucky men’s soccer team (9-0-5, 3-0-3 Sun Belt) will host conference rival Old Dominion (6-5-2, 3-2-1 Sun Belt) at The Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex honoring its 2022 senior class at 7 p.m. EST on Friday.

Kentucky’s six seniors will be joined by friends, family, and the Big Blue Nation to receive honor and recognition prior to the match. This year’s senior class is comprised of Eythor Bjorgolfsson, Brennan Creek, Luis Grassow, Nick Gutmann, Justin Scharf and Isaac Walker.

The Wildcats return to The Bell for the final home match of the regular season after a 3-0 victory at Indiana last week. The win in Hoosier territory was the first for UK since 1995.

Kentucky is one of three teams still undefeated in NCAA Division I men’s soccer. The Wildcats look to continue the unbeaten streak with Friday’s match. The Cats completed a streak of 15 undefeated matches in the 2021 season.

UK holds a 7-1-2 all-time series record with Sun Belt Conference, and formerly Conference USA, opponent Old Dominion. The two programs last went head-to-head in the 2021 season where the Cats defeated the Monarchs, 2-0 in Virginia.
