LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following an undefeated stretch of non-league competition, No. 10 Kentucky (5-0-1) will resume Conference USA play against No. 5 Marshall (4-1-2) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET at Hoops Family Field in Huntington, West Virginia.

The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Jake Griffith on the call.

Both teams enter the weekend at 0-0-1 in the league standings after draws with new C-USA affiliate member Coastal Carolina. The Wildcats opened the season with a scoreless draw in Conway, South Carolina, on Aug. 26, while the Thundering Herd tied the Chanticleers 3-3 on Sept. 4.

Since its conference opener, Kentucky has rattled off home wins against Wright State (3-0), Notre Dame (1-0), Duquesne (3-1) and Western Michigan (1-0), as well as its first road victory at Louisville (3-1) since 2012.

Marshall, which clinched the first national championship in conference history last spring, most recently earned its second ranked win of the season with a 2-0 shutout of No. 20 Akron last Tuesday. The Herd opened their 2021 campaign with a 6-1 win at No. 21 James Madison on Aug. 26 and have since defeated East Tennessee State (4-1) and Bowling Green (1-0).

In Marshall’s second and third ranked matchups of the season, the Herd blew a 2-0 halftime lead against No. 15 Virginia Tech for a 3-2 loss on Aug. 29 and tied No. 4 West Virginia 2-2 on Sept. 17.

Kentucky leads the all-time head-to-head series with Marshall 21-12-3 since its inaugural varsity season in 1991, though Marshall has claimed the last three in a row.
