No. 7 Kentucky Plays Georgia Wednesday Night in Memorial

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 7 Kentucky Volleyball team will play host to the Georgia Bulldogs in a one-match midweek Wednesday night at 6 p.m. ET on ESPNU, ESPN3 and the ESPN app inside Memorial Coliseum.
 
Tickets for Wednesday night’s match are available at UKathletics.com/tickets or can be purchased upon entry to the arena. Wednesday night is Decades’ Night inside Memorial Coliseum, as set one will feature music from the 70’s, set two will move into the 80’s and so on until the 2010’s are reached should the match go five sets. The match will feature decade trivia questions, highlights from past seasons in program history and more.
 
Courtney Lyle and current United States National Team head coach, Karch Kiraly will be on the call for ESPNU.
 
Kentucky is 17-4 on the season and currently sits 10-1 in Southeastern Conference play, holding on to a one-match lead atop the SEC standings with seven matches left to play. The Wildcats offense is led by Emma Grome, who has won back-to-back SEC Setter of the Week awards, after setting a new career-high with 63 assists in Kentucky’s match Friday night in Columbia, S.C.
 
UK defensively is paced by freshman libero Eleanor Beavin who is averaging over three digs per set and leads the SEC in both passer rating metrics and good-pass percentage for league matches. Azhani Tealer averages 1.28 blocks per set to lead all Kentucky players and is also hitting .440 to lead the Wildcats with 2.68 kills per set out of the middle.
 
Under the direction of former Canadian National Team head coach Tom Black, Georgia is sitting at 8-14 overall on the year and 4-7 in the SEC. The Bulldogs have been off for a week after their last outing, which was a series sweep at Alabama Oct. 30 and 31 in Tuscaloosa.
 
Kacie Evans leads the Dawgs with 2.91 kills per set and their defense is paced by Evans’ 2.32 digs per set alongside Phoebe Awoleye’s 1.13 blocks per set.
