Luis Grassow Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky junior Luis Grassow was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, earning the first weekly award of his career and the Wildcats’ first such honor of the season.
The 6-foot-1 center back scored the first goal of his career with the game winner in Kentucky’s 2-0 shutout at Old Dominion last Friday. Grassow played all 90 minutes in the Wildcats’ seventh clean sheet of the season, holding the Monarchs without a shot on target for the final 54 minutes of action.
Fourth-ranked Kentucky (8-0-3), undefeated through 11 games for the first time in program history, is set to host No. 25 West Virginia (7-1-4) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
In addition to free admission on Tuesday, all fans will have the opportunity to receive a ticket to Friday’s Kentucky men’s basketball Blue-White Game inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. Select fans will also receive free match posters and Kentucky soccer scarves, while students will be given free pizza and free t-shirts inside the Blue reBELLion student section.
