UKTF’s Daniel Roberts Qualifies for Olympic 110m Hurdles Semifinals

TOKYO — University of Kentucky track and field alumnus Daniel Roberts made his Olympic debut in the fifth day of athletics track & field competition with a 13.41 time in the 110-meter hurdles, qualifying him for semifinals. 

Roberts automatically qualified since he placed second in his heat with his 13.41 run, finishing the heats ranked 11th overall. 

In the previous day of competition, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.37, closely followed by another Wildcat in Keni Harrison for the silver (12.52). 

In the semifinals of the 100m hurdles, Camacho-Quinn earned an Olympic record with a time of 12.26, coming close to Harrison’s world record of 12.20. 

Sydney McLaughlin qualified for finals in the 400m hurdles on day four of Olympic track & field competition, and will compete in finals on Tuesday, August 3 at 10:30 p.m. ET. 

The 110m hurdles semifinals, featuring Roberts, are also tonight (Tuesday), August 3 at 10 p.m. ET.
