Kentucky Qualifies 46 Entries for NCAA East Preliminaries

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky qualified 46 entries for the 2021 NCAA East Preliminaries, which will take place May 27-29 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

The UK women have 24 entries, led by Molly Leppelmeier, who will compete in three field events. Faith Ross and Masai Russell are qualified in both hurdles, and Nicole Fautsch will be in two events. Both relay units also will compete. 

The UK men have 22 entries, led by Charles Lenford Jr., who will compete in three field events. Josh Sobota is set for two field events and Lance Lang has two individual dashes.  UK also qualified both relays. 

Kentucky has one No. 1 seed at the Preliminaries, coming from Keaton Daniel’s gold-medal-winning 5.70m pole vault at the Southeastern Conference Championships.

The Wildcats who qualify from the East Preliminaries will advance to the NCAA Championships, set for June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
