Thumbs Up for a Midweek Match, Cats Host No. 25 Aggies
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will return home for the first time since February, as Kentucky will play host to No. 25 Texas A&M on Thursday, March 18 at 11 a.m. ET inside the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center. It will mark Kentucky’s second straight ranked contest and its fourth ranked contest since the start of league action.
Admission to all home tennis matches is free, and fans are encouraged to attend. Capacity at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center is limited to 50 spectators, and it will be based on a first come, first serve basis. Face coverings, over the nose and mouth, are required for all fans as they enter, exit and move around the building, and all patrons will be required to take a temperature check upon entry.
Free parking options include the three small E-lots adjacent to the facility 1.5 hours prior to first serve. Spectators may also pay to park in the Sports Center Garage (PS No. 7) on the corner of Complex Drive and Sport Center Drive. The cost of parking is $2 per hour, with a $16 maximum.

The Wildcats are 11-3 this spring, including a 9-2 mark at home and a 3-3 mark in the Southeastern Conference. All of Kentucky’s losses have come against ranked programs, including then-No. 23 LSU, then-No. 21 Auburn and No. 11 Vanderbilt. Kentucky is coming off a three-game road series that saw a triumph at Missouri (4-1) and at then-No. 23 Arkansas (4-1), and a heartbreaker at No. 11 Vanderbilt (3-4).
Akvile Paražinskaite improved to a 13-1 record on the No. 1 singles court after that stretch, including a 3-0 record against ranked opponents after defeating No. 20 Christina Rosca of the Commodores. Even more impressive, she and freshman Fiona Arrese improved to an 11-0 record on the No. 1 doubles court, the best doubles record in the conference.
Texas A&M is 10-3 this spring, including a 2-2 mark on the road and a 2-1 mark in the SEC, suffering losses to then-No. 2 UCLA, then-No. 20 Baylor and Florida. Kentucky has a slight edge over Texas A&M in the all-time series, leading 13-7. The Wildcats and the Aggies have split their last six appearances, 3-3.
