- Senior guard Sabrina Haines scored first for Kentucky in the game, hitting a layup off a turnover. Haines has been the first Wildcat to score four times this season.
- The Wildcats missed their first five shots and trailed 5-0 in the early going but responded with an 11-0 hitting five of nine field goals to end the quarter while Missouri missed each of its last six shots.
- UK led 11-7 at the end of the quarter with Missouri hitting two free throws with just over one minute to go to end the UK run.
- Kentucky forced Missouri into eight turnovers and score nine points off those miscues in the first quarter. UK had four first-quarter turnovers but MU scored only 2 points off those TOs.
- UK started the second quarter on a 9-0 run and put together a dominating performance in the quarter on both sides of the ball.
