Four-Run Fifth Dooms No. 17 Kentucky on Tuesday Night

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats surrendered four runs in the top of the fifth inning, and lost to Western Kentucky, 4-1 on Tuesday night at John Cropp Stadium.
 
UK will return to Southeastern Conference play this weekend, as they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas for a three-game series at Bogle Park. Game one is Friday night at 7 p.m. ET.

4. The Wildcats current four-game losing streak is the first since March of 2018.

The key play in the game for Kentucky was Mallory Peyton’s home run in the bottom of the fourth to put Kentucky up 1-0.

Mallory Peyton was the key player of the game for the Wildcats scoring the team’s only run on the day.
