Kentucky Travels to LSU For Wednesday Night Match vs. Tigers

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 14 Kentucky Volleyball team will make its final Southeastern Conference road trip of the season on Wednesday night on the Bayou at 8 p.m. ET against the Louisiana State Tigers. The match will air live on the SEC Network, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Tiffany Greene and Missy Whittemore on the call from the Maravich Assembly Center.
 
Kentucky has won 10 of its last 11 matches, including six in a row dating back to the first of the month as the Wildcats have also only dropped three sets in the month of November. Included in that stretch of 10 of 11 matches – the Wildcats dispatched LSU in Lexington, 3-0 in the team’s last meeting.
 
UK leads the series with LSU 41-24 after beating the Tigers in Lexington this season. Kentucky has won seven matches in a row vs. LSU, dating back to 2014 and UK has come out victorious in 18 out of the last 20 sets.
 
Leah Edmond continued her hot streak this past week, logging 18 kills, her highest output for a three-set match this season and was awarded another SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the third week running. She is leading UK averaging over four kills per set, and is also logging over two digs per set, as well.
 
Kentucky is currently slotted at No. 7 in the NCAA RPI that was released on Monday afternoon, its highest ranking in the computers this year so far. UK was also slotted at No. 14 in the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association in Monday’s poll. LSU is ranked 74th in the RPI and is not ranked in the AVCA poll.
 
The Tigers are 9-7 in the SEC this season, hovering two matches above the .500 mark in the league. LSU is 15-11 on the season overall and is being paced by Taylor Bannister, who is averaging 4.29 kills per set on the year.
