Best, Wolfe Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Kentucky football players Blake Best and Mason Wolfe have been named to the 2019 All-District® Football Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced Thursday. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
Best and Wolfe were named First-Team Academic All-District® honorees and now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
 
Best, a senior from Duluth, Georgia, serves as UK’s starting long snapper for the fourth straight season. He is perfect on all snaps and holds in his Wildcat career and has carried that perfect mark in the classroom. Best graduated summa cum laude in December of 2018 with a double major in economics and finance with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He is currently working on a master’s degree in finance.
 
Best was a Second-Team Academic All-American last season and is a seven-time member of the Dean’s List. He also is a three-time member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
Wolfe, a native of Henderson, Kentucky, is a senior offensive guard. He has seen action in 33 career games, including all nine this season. He graduated with a 3.623 GPA in May of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in criminology. He is currently working on a master’s degree in sport leadership.
 
Wolfe is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and was named to the First-Year SEC Honor Roll as a freshman in 2015. He also is a two-time member of the Dean’s List.
