Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is 3-0, while Stetson is 1-1. 
    • The Wildcats are now 2-0 at home this season.
    • UK is 450-157 all-time inside Memorial Coliseum, including a 163-31 mark under head coach Matthew Mitchell.
  • Kentucky is 826-540 all-time, including 477-173 all-time at home. 
  • This was the third all-time meeting between Kentucky and Stetson in women’s basketball.
    • UK leads the all-time series 3-0 in games played against the Hatters.
    • UK is 8-1 all-time against the current alignment of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
  • Matthew Mitchell is in his 13th season as the head coach of the Wildcats.
    • Mitchell is 314-154 overall in his career and 284-125 during his tenure at Kentucky.
    • UK is 71-9 all-time in the month of November under Mitchell.
  • Kentucky is ranked 13th in the latest Associated Press Top 25.
    • UK holds a 18-4 record all-time when ranked 13th in the nation, including winning 14 of its last 16 games while carrying the No. 13 ranking.

 
Team Notes

  • Kentucky used the starting combination of sophomore guard Rhyne Howard, senior guards Sabrina Haines and Amanda Paschal, and junior forwards KeKe McKinney and Tatyana Wyatt.
    • UK is 3-0 this season when it uses that starting combination.
  • The Wildcats scored the first eight points of the game – including the first seven from Rhyne Howard.
    • UK led 13-8 at the end of the first quarter with Howard scoring 12 of UK’s points.
    • UK went 5-of-15 from the field in the first quarter with all five field goals made by Howard.
    • The Wildcats went 1-of-6 from the free-throw line in the first quarter.
    • Four of Kentucky’s field goals in the first quarter were assisted.
  • UK also started the second quarter on a run, outscored the Hatters 12-2 in the first 4:17 to take a double-digit lead. Part of that run was an 8-0 spurt by the Wildcats, which was answered by a 5-0 Stetson run.
  • The Wildcats held a 32-20 lead at the break, which was its largest halftime lead of the season.
    • UK’s biggest lead in the first half was 15 at 25-10, which is Kentucky’s largest first-half lead of the season.
  • Kentucky has scored exactly 67 points in each of its first three games this season.
    • This is the first time in program history that UK has scored the exact same point total in each of its first three games.
  • UK forced 24 turnovers and scored 24 points off those miscues in the game.
    • UK has forced 20 or more turnovers in each of its first three games and scored 20 or more points off turnovers in each game this season.
  • The Wildcats have recorded 20 or more second-chance points in back-to-back games. The Wildcats had 19 offensive rebounds against Stetson and 22 second-chance points.
  • KeKe McKinney scored 10 points becoming the seventh Kentucky player this season to record 10 or more points in a game.
  • For the first time this season, UK scored 15 or more points in three straight quarters, totaling 19 in the second, 17 in third and 18 in the fourth.
  • The Wildcats have limited each of its first three opponents to less than 40 percent shooting from the field.
  • UK had two players grab 10 or more rebounds tonight – McKinney with 10 and Wyatt with 10 – marking the first time UK has had two players record double-digit rebounds since Evelyn Akhator and Taylor Murray accomplished the feat at LSU in January 2017.
  • UK has held its first three opponents to a combined 11-of-54 from long range for 20.4 percent.

 
Player Notes

  • Sophomore guard Rhyne Howard scored a game-high 24 points with five rebounds.  

    • Howard has hit at least one 3-pointer in 30 of her 35 career games.
    • Howard has scored 10 or more points in 28 of her 35 career games.
    • Howard has led UK in scoring in 18 of her 35 career games.
    • Howard has scored 15 or more points in 23 of her 35 career games.
    • Howard has scored 20 or more points in 11 of her 35 career games.
  • Junior forward Tatyana Wyatt scored nine points with 10 rebounds, adding a block.
    • The 10 rebounds marks the second 10+ rebounding game for Wyatt and tied a career high in rebounds.
    • Wyatt has scored seven or more points in each of the first three games. 
  • Senior guard Jaida Roper had a career high eight assists in the game, which was a career high.
  • Senior guard Sabrina Haines had eight points with six rebounds in the game.
    • Haines has hit at least one 3 in every game this season.
  • Junior forward KeKe McKinney recorded her first career double-double in the game with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
    • McKinney added four assists and two blocks and had four assists in back-to-back games.
