  • Kentucky is 2-1, Evansville is 2-0
  • This was the first meeting between the schools in men’s basketball.  
  • Next up: Kentucky continues its eight-game home stand Monday vs. Utah Valley. That game will tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. 

Player Notes   

  • Immanuel Quickley had a career-high 16 points for the second consecutive game. He also had a career-high nine rebounds.

    • He has scored in double figures in all three games this season.??????
  • Tyrese Maxey joined Quickley in double figures with 15 points.

    • UK is now 189-17 under Calipari when keeping the opponent at 40 percent or under.
  • Kentucky fell to 220-31 all-time when ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25.
  • UK had won five straight games in Rupp Arena, dating back to last season.

In the First Half 

  • The starting lineup consisted of Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley, Kahlil Whitney, Nate Sestina and Nick Richards.  

    • Tyrese Maxey was the first sub. 
  • Quickley initiated the scoreboard with a driving banker-and-one at the 19:06 mark.
  • Trailing 16-15, Evansville’s Sam Cunliffe scored seven straight points – initiating a 9-0 Purple Aces run – as the visitors took a 24-16 edge. 
  • Evansville led the rest of the half and took a 34-30 lead into intermission.

 In the Second Half 

  • Kentucky opened the second half with Hagans, Quickley, Maxey, Sestina and Richards.
  • Trailing 44-37, UK went on an 11-2 run to reclaim the lead at 48-46.
  • Evansville replied quickly with its own 5-0 spurt to go back ahead 51-48.
  • UK tied at 53 but K.J. Riley’s 3-pointer with 7:15 on the clock put the Purple Aces ahead for good.
  • Noah Frederking’s 3-pointer from the left corner with 4:33 to go extended UE to 61-55.
  • A driving layup by Maxey with eight seconds left pulled UK within one at 65-64. 
  • Cunliffe’s two foul shots with 6.8 seconds made the score 67-64 and UK missed a 3 to tie.
