LEXINGTON, Ky. – The opening weekend of the 2020 Kentucky softball schedule is set, as the Wildcats are set to compete in the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Division I Lead-Off Classic presented by Rawlings at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.

Kentucky will play four regular-season games to open the season and one exhibition against Team USA from Feb. 7-9 in the Sunshine State.

The 2020 season will kick off on Friday, Feb. 7 at Noon ET as Kentucky will face Liberty followed by a 2:30 p.m. ET matchup with Texas State, with both games on field No. 3.

Kentucky will face its first power-five opponent of the season in NC State on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. ET. That game will take place on field No. 1 and will be UK’s only regular season matchup of the day.

UK will play an exhibition game against Team USA, as they ramp up preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at 5:30 p.m. ET on field No. 8 of the Moore Softball Complex. That game will not count towards the Wildcats overall record and no stats in the game will count towards the team’s or individual’s season totals.

The Lead-Off Classic closes shop Sunday, Feb. 9 as Kentucky faces 2019 Women’s College World Series participant, Minnesota at Noon ET on field No. 4.
