Kentucky Returns Home to Face Xavier on Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky returns home on Tuesday evening to face Xavier in the first of eight straight games in Kentucky Proud Park to complete the month of March. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET – the first night start in the new ballpark –  and the game will air on SEC Network Plus and via WatchESPN.
 
The Wildcats (13-7 overall, 0-3 in Southeastern Conference) and Musketeers are familiar foes, having met regularly in recent seasons due to being less than 90 minutes apart. Xavier upset the Cats in last season’s home opener before UK pummeled the Musketeers in the return engagement in Cincinnati. The two programs also met last fall in a pair of exhibition games.
 
Kentucky Proud Park has been good to the Cats thus far, with the club winning 10 of its first 11 games in the new facility. Twice the Cats won in walk-off style and claimed another win with an eighth-inning rally. They hope to have similar success on the second homestand, particularly on the heels of a tough series at No. 11 LSU over the weekend.

Parking and Tailgating
Parking in all areas surrounding Kentucky Proud Park is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so fans are encouraged to arrive as early as possible. The following areas will be open for parking:

• College Way lot immediately adjacent to Kentucky Proud Park
• Purple Lots by soccer/softball
• Kroger Field Blue Lot
• Kroger Field Green Lot
• Lot between the Arboretum and Commonwealth Drive

 
Shuttles will operate beginning two hours prior to first pitch and will run until one hour postgame. Shuttles will pick up at the Blue and Green lots and drop at the main gate of Kentucky Proud Park.
 
Parking lots will open four hours prior to first pitch and all tailgates must be in the back of vehicles. Tailgates can be coordinated through Tailgate Guys, a turnkey tailgate service.
