Jacob Thomson Named CoSIDA Academic All-District
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Track and Field Senior Jacob Thomson was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country team, selected by CoSIDA.
The honor, selected by college sports communications professionals throughout the nation, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in intercollegiate athletic competition and in the classroom.
Thomson was a first team selection within district two. The district includes Division I schools in Washington D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
As a first-team Academic All-District honoree, Thomson advanced to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
Voting among sports information directors ends Thursday, June 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

Thomson is a two-time Southeastern Conference Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year, three-time SEC Track and Field Champion – 5,000 meters (indoor 2018), 5k and 10k (2016), Two-time First-Team All-America – 10k (2016), 5k (2018), and six-time SEC medalist overall.
He graduated in May with a degree in Accounting and Finance.
He’s qualified for the NCAA 10k final each of the past three years. This year’s race will be Wednesday night.
Kentucky track and field’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Tim Duckworth and head coach Edrick Floréal earned awards within the Southeast Region from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday.
