Kentucky Earns No. 2 Seed at NCAA Minneapolis Regional

MINNEAPOLIS –For the 14th-consecutive season, the Kentucky gymnastics team is headed to the NCAA Regionals. The two-seeded Wildcats will travel to Minneapolis to compete at the Sports Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota on April 7 at 5 p.m. ET.
 
Kentucky will face off against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 13 Denver, Minnesota, Iowa State and Iowa. UK’s two seed ties the highest in program history, earned with the regional qualifying score of 196.800.
 
The top-three teams from the Minnesota, Penn State, and Utah regional will compete in one semifinal, while teams from the NC State, Alabama and Ohio State regional will compete in the other on April 20. The final Super Six will take place on April 21st at 7 p.m. in St. Louis.
 
The Wildcats will start on the beam and have a bye in the second rotation. UK will head to floor and vault before another bye and will wrap up the meet on the bars. Tori Erickson from Wisconsin Eau Claire will join Kentucky in the meet.
 
Kentucky has not faced any team in the regional this season. Last season, UK met Oklahoma in the NCAA Seattle regional last season.
