Reed’s Homer, Vick’s Three-Hit Day Not Enough to Top No. 11 Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. – Katie Reed gave Kentucky a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning on her third home run of the season and Bailey Vick went 3-for-4 on the day with three singles and a base hit, but the No. 11 Auburn Tigers got six runs to sweep Kentucky, 6-4.
With the loss, Kentucky drops its third in a row and falls to 19-9 overall on the season and 2-6 in the Southeastern Conference. Auburn moves to 31-9 this season and is 5-4 in SEC play.
Kentucky will close out its four-game road trip on Wednesday afternoon at No. 18 Ohio State in Columbus. First pitch at Buckeye Field in the capital of Ohio is 6 p.m. ET. The game will be shown on Buckeye Vision through Ohio State’s website ($).

Three. Bailey Vick went 3-for-4 on Sunday with three base hits in the game. It is the fourth time Vick has had three or four hits in a game this season, and the second time in her career it has come against an SEC opponent.

The key play in the game came in the top of the third inning as Katie Reed hit her third home run of the season over the wall in left field to give UK a 2-1 lead. It was the first time all series that UK had a lead.
