No. 20 Kentucky Looks to Bounce Back Sunday vs. Tennessee Tech
LEXINGTON, Ky. – After suffering its first loss of the season Thursday at No. 9 Baylor, the No. 20 University of Kentucky women’s basketball team looks to bounce back and earn its seventh win of the season when it plays host to Tennessee Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET inside Memorial Coliseum.
The game will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ with Jeff Piecoro and Christi Thomas on the call. The action can also be seen through WatchESPN on computers, smartphones or tablets. Darren Headrick, now in his first year with the program, will be calling the game on the UK Sports Radio Network. Fans in Lexington can hear Headrick’s call on 630-AM WLAP. Freshman forward Tatyana Wyatt is scheduled to sign autographs following the game on the main concourse near the Lexington Avenue entrance. Young fans are encouraged to take advantage of the Kid Zone pregame with games, poster making stations, coloring stations and more.

Single-game tickets are $9 (all ages) in reserved seating areas, while general admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 6-18) and seniors (age 65+). Children ages five and under do not require a ticket in general admission areas.
Purchasing season tickets offers the best option and price savings for fans. New season ticket purchases are available in upper-level reserved chairbacks (sections AA-JJ), lower-level reserved bleachers (sections R-Z) or general admission bleachers (sections RR-ZZ) for $65 per ticket. Lower-level reserved chairbacks (A-J) sections are sold out again this season.
Kentucky (6-1) is coming off its first loss of the season Thursday when it dropped a 90-63 decision at No. 9 Baylor as part of the Big 12/Southeastern Conference Challenge. The Wildcats trailed just 39-32 with 2:00 to go in the second quarter before Baylor hit three consecutive 3s as part of a 11-2 run to end the first half to take a 16-point lead into halftime. UK would go ice cold from the field in the third quarter, allowing Baylor to take control of the game before the Wildcats won the fourth quarter 23-17.
Junior guard Maci Morris was impressive for Kentucky, scoring a game-high 22 points while going 5-of-8 from the field with five rebounds. Three other Wildcats scored in double figures with sophomore guard Jaida Roper scoring 12 points with three 3s, while Makenzie Cann and Taylor Murray each had 10 points. Murray added six rebounds and five assists, while Cann went 2-for-3 from the 3.
The Baylor game is the first in a difficult stretch for the Wildcats, who will play five games in 11 days including three away from Memorial Coliseum. After Sunday’s game vs. Tennessee Tech, UK plays host to Evansville on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. ET before traveling to play at Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Dec. 8 and at Miami (Fla.) on Sunday, Dec. 10. Both Florida Gulf Coast and Miami (Fla.) are receiving votes nationally.
Tennessee Tech has started its 2017-18 campaign with a 1-5 overall record, winning its season opener against Tennessee Wesleyan before dropping five straight contests. Sunday’s game is the second of a two-game road swing for Tennessee Tech. The stretch started at Wright State on Dec. 1, falling 82-59.
The Golden Eagles traveled to SEC opponent Georgia on Nov. 27, dropping a tough 56-48 game. Georgia and Kentucky are the only two SEC teams TTU is scheduled to face this year.
Senior guard Yaktavia Hickson is Tennessee Tech’s leading scorer and rebounder this season, posting 9.7 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Kesha Brady is averaging 9.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game with a team-best 14 steals, while sophomore guard Akia Harris has a team-best 20 assists. As a team, Tennessee Tech is averaging 55.2 points per game, hitting 37.5 percent from the field and 26 percent from long range.
TTU has a young roster this season with six freshmen and three sophomores. The Golden Eagles return just two starters from last year’s squad which went 10-20, including a 7-9 mark in OVC games.
Kentucky leads the all-time series in games played against Tennessee Tech 8-6. This is the first meeting between the two teams since UK earned a 77-53 victory over the Golden Eagles on Dec. 7, 2010 inside Memorial Coliseum. UK leads the all-times series 6-0 in games played in Lexington.

Parking
- Spectator parking is located in all of the E-lots surrounding Memorial Coliseum, all lots are off control three hours prior to tip. Additionally, the South Limestone Garage (PS#5) and the Rose Street Garage (PS#2) are available two hours prior to tip. - The Lexington Parking Authority Transit Center Parking Garage, located between High Street and Vine Street is available for parking after 5 p.m. during the week and all day on the weekends. Additionally, a free shuttle service will pick up by the Transit Center bus stop, near the corner of High Street and Martin Luther King beginning two hours prior to tip. UK Athletics Event Staff will be at the Transit Center Garage Entrance to assist with directing patrons to the correct shuttle pick-up location.
- Parking is prohibited in any R (Residential) lots. Vehicles parking in R lots without a proper permit, along yellow curbs, grass spaces, or other non-specified and unapproved areas may be subject to ticket and/or tow.
- Disabled spectator parking is available with a valid, state issued disabled hang tag in the E-Lot (Employee Lot) North of the Craft Center. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis until full.
Transit Center Parking Garage
- UK women’s basketball fans can avoid traffic and congestion around Memorial Coliseum and park for FREE at the Transit Center Garage – available after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day for weekend games.
- The Transit Center Parking Garage is accessible from Vine Street of High Street.
- Push the green flashing button upon entry, take the yellow token and store it in a safe place. Park in the garage and find the UK Athletics event staff member at the entrance of the garage near Lexington Avenue for a free parking token to use after the game when you exit the garage. Staff will remain on site until 20 minutes after tip.
- Please do not lose your token. If you lose your token, you will be charged an $8 fee for a lost token fee. If you lose your token, visit the pay on foot station located in the seventh floor elevator lobby of the garage and choose “lost token.” You will be charged $8 and given a new token that can be used to exit the garage.
Shuttles
- Shuttles are available beginning two hours prior to tip and pick up and drop off near the South Limestone Garage (Parking Structure #5) (blue route) and near the Transit Center Parking Garage and High Street Lot (green route).
- Shuttles will start back up after halftime to return guests to their parking areas, the shuttle will discontinue service one hour postgame.

- Doors to Memorial Coliseum open 1.5 hours prior to tip.
- UK Athletics encourages women’s basketball fans to arrive early to ease traffic and parking congestion around the Coliseum.
