Team Records and Series Notes
-Kentucky is now 6-0 this season, while Marshall fell to 1-4 overall.
-Matthew Mitchell is in his 11th season as head coach at Kentucky. He is the winningest head coach in program history at 247-100.
-UK holds a 14-2 all-time record over the Thundering Herd, including a 9-0 record in games played in Lexington.
- Kentucky has won seven of the last eight games between the two programs.
-The Wildcats moved up to No. 22 in the latest Associated Press Top 25. UK is also receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
-Kentucky will return to action Thursday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. ET, traveling to Waco, Texas to take on No. 8/9 Baylor as part of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge. The game will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports, as well as on the UK Sports Radio Network with Darren Headrick calling the action.

-Kentucky used the starting combination of senior Alyssa Rice, senior Makenzie Cann, junior Taylor Murray, junior Maci Morris and freshman Dorie Harrison.
- UK is 6-0 with that starting-five combination.
-After falling behind 19-17 early in the second quarter, Kentucky used a 13-0 run to take control of the game and force a Marshall timeout.
-Out of the timeout, Kentucky extended its run to 20-0, its longest run of the season.
- In total, the Wildcats held Marshall scoreless for 8:31.
-Kentucky held Marshall to just five second-quarter points as they shot 2-of-14 from the floor.
-A 3-pointer at the buzzer from Taylor Murray to end the third quarter gave Kentucky its largest lead of the night at 57-36 (21 points).
-UK did not allow a single field goal in the fourth quarter, marking the first time since moving to the four quarter format in 2015-16 the Cats have accomplished the feat.
-Marshall scored just three points in the fourth quarter.
- Marshall’s three points marked the lowest opponent output in a single quarter this season after holding Gardner-Webb to four points in two separate quarters earlier this season.
-Marshall’s 39 points marked its lowest scoring effort in a game this season.
- It’s previous low was 52 against Ohio on Nov. 22.
- Before today’s game, Marshall was averaging 70.8 points per game.
– Kentucky dominated the boards, outrebounding the Thundering Herd, 47-22.
-The Wildcats forced 16 turnovers in the game, scoring 17 points off of those turnovers.
-UK had the advantage in virtually every specialty stat, including an 18-2 edge in second chance points and 32-18 in points in the paint.
Player Notes
–Alyssa Rice recorded her first career double-double in the game with a career-high 19 points and career-best 10 rebounds.
- Rice’s 19 points paced all scorers in the game.
- It was the second time in her career she’s led the team in scoring.
- Her eight made baskets also marked a career high for the senior.
- The performance marked the first time she’s scored 15+ points and the first time she’s had double-digit rebounds.
- She also matched a season high with two blocks in the game.
–Maci Morris added 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win.
- The junior remained the only player to score in double-digits in every game yet this season.
- Going 3-of-6 from long range today, Morris has made at least three 3-pointers in four consecutive games.
- Morris took sole possession of the No. 7 spot on Kentucky’s list of all-time 3-pointers made with 118 total.
–Taylor Murray posted 13 points with six rebounds and two assists.
- She matched a career high with two made 3s in the game.
–KeKe McKinney matched a season high with seven points to go along with five rebounds.
