Bailey Vick Named SEC Freshman of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman softball player Bailey Vick was named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week, it was announced by the league offense on Tuesday afternoon. Vick was an instrumental part of Kentucky’s 4-0 week, including a sweep of Missouri on the road for the first time all season.
On the week, Vick hit .400 with six hits, three runs scored, a double and an RBI. The freshman from Paducah, Kentucky, is hitting .336 on the season, which ranks third on the team and has 37 total hits on the season with eight doubles. The speedster has also stolen seven bases this season on nine attempts.
Tuesday’s honor for Vick is the first-career individual award for the freshman in her collegiate career, and also the first SEC Player of the Week award for the Wildcats this season.
Kentucky returns to action for two midweek games beginning on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. ET at Eastern Kentucky followed by a trip to UT-Martin on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
