LEXINGTON, Ky. – With the Big Blue Nation set to take over Nashville and cheer on the Kentucky men’s basketball team as the Wildcats chase their 30th SEC Tournament Championship, the UK Sports Network is rolling out the blue carpet for fans by transforming downtown Nashville’s newest and hottest bar, The Valentine, into the “Official UK Sports Network Headquarters.”
The Valentine, located at 312 Broadway and just steps away from Bridgestone Arena, will serve as the UK Sports Network’s official home for its “Texas Roadhouse Countdown to Tipoff” pregame radio show with Dave Baker and Rex Chapman prior to each game at 10:30 a.m. CT. A postgame panel featuring the entire UK Sports Network roster of talent, including the radio play-by-play team of Tom Leach and Mike Pratt, will also wrap up the day’s action approximately one hour following each game live from The Valentine. Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with Chapman as part of the UK Sports Network’s “Sights and Sounds of Nashville, presented by VisitLEX” social video series, as well as purchase officially licensed merchandise on site from Kentucky Branded.
Having hosted hospitality parties around some of Nashville’s biggest events, including CMA Fest and country artist album release parties, The Valentine has lined up plenty of live music acts, including Kentucky native JD Shelburne on Thursday morning at 11 a.m., to complement the UK Sports Network’s slate of programming creating a full schedule of entertainment events.
The Valentine will be running specials for UK fans to enjoy all weekend long. There is no cover charge for admission and The Valentine will be opening early at 10 a.m. for Cats fans to enjoy all the entertainment and will not close until 2:30 a.m.
