BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Six Wildcats picked up All-Southeastern Conference honors this week by virtue of their performances at last month’s SEC Indoor Championships, the league office announced.
Kentucky had two First-Team All-Conference selections – SEC Champions Sha’Keela Saunders and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. Those two were named Southeast Region Athletes of the Year on Monday as well.
Saunders won the SEC long jump with the sixth best jump in indoor collegiate history, while Camacho-Quinn won the 60-meter hurdles in a PR 8.02. Camacho-Quinn also took silver in the 200m.
Javianne Oliver (60m silver) and Olivia Gruver (pole vault bronze) were named Second-Team All-SEC. Oliver earned same honor indoors last season, while this was Gruver’s first All-SEC selection.
Nick Anderson was a Second-Team All-SEC selection (60m hurdles bronze).
Ellen Ekholm was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, as she was the top freshman placer in the high jump.
