Wildcats in the Pros -- Nov. 29

Each week, Wildcats in the Pros catches up with some former Kentucky student-athletes who are doing big things in professional athletics. 

Former Wildcat and current Pittsburgh Steeler Bud Dupree had plenty to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. In Thursday’s game, Dupree was able to make an impact for the first time this season after returning from injury. Dupree recorded two total tackles for the Steelers’ in a 28-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Tennessee Titans beat the Chicago Bears 27-21 on Sunday, and a pair of former Wildcats led the defensive effort. Linebacker Avery Williamson had seven tackles, and fellow linebacker Wesley Woodyard added six stops in the Tennessee victory. 

Randall Cobb and his Green Bay Packers battled the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. The former Kentucky wide receiver had six total receptions for 41 receiving yards as the Packers snapped their losing streak with a 27-13 win.

Anthony Davis continues to lead the NBA in scoring, averaging 31.6 points per game. Davis also leads the league in blocked shots per game (2.82) and is tied for seventh in the league in rebounding (10.9). On Sunday, Davis scored 36 points against the Dallas Mavericks, while adding 13 rebounds. He followed that effort with a 31-point, 13-rebound effort on Friday against Portland.

Davis is not the only former Wildcat scoring in bunches. DeMarcus Cousins is also having a big scoring season, currently ranking fifth in the league in points per game (28.7). In back-to-back games Sunday and Monday, the Sacramento Kings center scored a combined 73 points. 

On Sunday, the Phoenix Suns had a pair of 30-point efforts from their starting backcourt, both of whom are former Cats. Eric Bledsoe led the Suns with 35 points in a 120-114 loss to the Denver Nuggets. Bledsoe’s backcourt mate, Devin Booker, added 30 points in the loss.
