Edmond Earns First Player of the Week Honor, Dailey Setter of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After victories over No. 5 Florida and South
Carolina last week, two Kentucky volleyball players earned Southeastern
Conference weekly honors on Monday. Freshman Leah Edmond was named SEC Player
of the Week and Freshman of the Week, while sophomore Olivia Dailey was named
Setter of the Week for the second-consecutive week.

The award is Edmond’s first Player of the Week honor and the third time
she has been named Freshman of the Week this season.

Edmond had a massive match against No. 5 Florida. The Lexington,
Kentucky native earned a game-high 19 kills, one off her career-high, while
hitting .325. Edmond also contributed on the defensive side with seven digs and
a block.

The match with South Carolina was much of the same. Edmond had a
team-high 13 kills with one service ace. She earned 11 digs and a block on the
defensive side in the win over the Gamecocks.

Dailey earns her second-career league honor after averaging 12.8
assists per set during the week with 90 combined helpers over the two matches.

At No. 5 Florida, Dailey had 37 assists, helping the squad hit .290 in
the upset of the Gators. The Trussville, Alabama native had one service ace during
the contest, and also contributed on defense with seven digs.

South Carolina saw Dailey have her second-best assist total of the
season. She picked up her SEC-best 53 helpers while facilitating the offense to
the tune of 62 kills.

Kentucky stays on the road to continue SEC play with on Friday
as UK travels to Mississippi State at 8:00 p.m. The match will be shown live on
