UKTF Signs Two More for 2016-17 Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky track and field program signed two more students to national letters of intent this summer.

Ellen Ekholm, signed to study at UK and compete as a high jumper. She claimed bronze at the 2015 European Under-20 Championships competing for Sweden as she cleared a personal best 6’0”/1.83 meters to earn bronze.

Mohammed Abubakar also signed a NLI to study at UK and compete as a Wildcat. He was National Junior College Runner-up in the outdoor long jump, and placed fifth in the triple jump, last spring. He claimed bronze in the long jump and placed eighth in the triple jump at the Junior College Indoor National Championships last season at Butler Community College.
