UKTF Set for Final Regular-Season Road Test at LSU Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Kentucky track and field teams will look to continue their momentum this weekend, the Wildcats’ final road trip of the season.
The Wildcats will compete at the LSU Invitational, which begins at 10 a.m. ET at Bernie Moore Track Stadium on Saturday. The meet features seven teams and will be scored. DeltaTiming will provide live results.
The scoring will be done using the standard NCAA Championship scoring format with points allocated with 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 in each of the 20 individual and relay events on both sides. The men’s and women’s team champions are to be honored following the running of the 4×400-meter relays at approximately 4:50 p.m.
No. 1-ranked Texas A&M, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 8 Alabama, Kentucky and Miami make up the men’s side.
No. 1 Arkansas, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 LSU, No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 15 Miami and Alabama make up the women’s side.
Monday’s rankings were the fourth edition of this outdoor season.
The Week Four rankings featured some shakeups, largely because they consider only marks recorded this outdoor season so far. They are intended as a projection of NCAA Championships finishes based on performances so far this year.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (100-meter hurdles), Kiah Seymour (400m hurdles), Destiny Carter (long jump) and Sha’Keela Saunders (long jump) all had their hand in Kentucky’s rise. Each of those four athletes stood out this past weekend at the Virginia Challenge in their respective events.
Additionally, Beckie Famurewa recorded the nation’s No. 8 hammer throw and No. 10 discus throw this weekend.
Kentucky’s relays are also highly ranked nationally. The women’s 4x100m relay of Javianne Oliver, Precious Hitchcock, Destiny Carter and Kianna Gray ran 43.14 at the Virginia Challenge this weekend, which is ranked No. 3 nationally.
UK’s 4x400m relay of Kianna Gray, Jasmine Mitchell, Carter and Seymour has a season-best time of 3:28.45, which is ranked No. 4 in the NCAA.
Gray has a 100m season-best of 11.21, which ranks No. 8 nationally. Ariah Graham has the nation’s No. 7 800m time – a school-record 2:03.04.
Jacob Thomson will run in the 5k at Stanford’s Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday night.
Kentucky will host the Kentucky Relays the following Saturday before the SEC Championships May 12-14.
