UK Soccer has Five C-USA Academic Medal Winners
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Five Kentucky men’s soccer players earned the
Conference USA
Academic Medal and 21 Wildcats were named to the Commissioner’s Honor
Roll for their achievements in the classroom during the 2015-16 year.
The Wildcats’ numbers increased in academic medals from three last year.
Sam Miller and Paul Sime repeated as medal recipients.
With 21 players named to the honor roll, Kentucky had the second most honorees
of C-USA men’s soccer teams. Kentucky had 17 students make C-USA Honor Roll
last season.
A total of 604 student-athletes earned the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal
during the 2015-16 academic year, Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced. Medals
are given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of
3.75 or better.
Student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll maintain a cumulative
grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Wildcats won the first Conference USA Regular-Season Championship in UK
history in 2015.
The UK men’s soccer team is the University’s only team that competes in C-USA.
The Southeastern Conference doesn’t sponsor men’s soccer.
