UKTF Continues with Top Performances Friday at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kentucky got another steady dose of strong performances on Friday, the second day of the Florida Relays at Percy Beard Track.
Jacklyn Howell ran 13:09w (+2.1) in the 100-meter hurdles, to place as top collegian with a time that ranks No. 3 nationally. The Wildcats have the No. 1 and No. 3 ranked hurdlers in the nation, early in this outdoor season.
Ariah Graham’s school record in the 800m was another notable run.
Graham made her outdoor season debut with a time of 2:03.24, which was the second fastest by a collegian and fourth overall.
Kianna Gray and Destiny Carter placed 2-3 in the 100m, with respective times of 11.21w (+3.3) and 11.26w (+2.7). Those times rank tied-No. 2 and No. 3 outright in the NCAA at time of publication. Gray and Carter ran similarly well in the 200m, on Thursday.
Lou Styles ran a PR 3:42.22 to place fifth in the 1,500m. The time made him the No. 8 UK performer all-time.
Adriana Brown tossed a PR 176’07”/53.82m to place seventh in the discus. Beckie Famurewa tossed a season best in the hammer, 207’4”/63.20m, to place sixth.
Spencer Hrycay ran a nice season-best 8:58.34 to place third in the 3k steeplechase.
Katy Kunc and Caroline McCaslin placed third and fifth in the 3k steeplechase with respective times of 10:22.59 and 10:34.31. Kunc’s time was an 11-second PR and the school record. McCaslin lost her school record to Kunc, but the time was a PR by nearly three seconds.
Jasmine Mitchell made her 800m debut with a time of 2:08.74 a day after running a PR in the 400m.
Kiah Seymour ran a 2016-best 52.63 in the 400m, placing fourth in Friday’s competition.
Kentucky’s 4x400m relay of Sha’Keela Saunders, Precious Hitchcock, Donatella Asemota and Gray turned in the best 4x400m relay qualifying time on Friday: 3:35.56.
Nick Anderson ran a PR-tying 13.60 in the 110m hurdles.
Kenshard Hamilton ran a windy PR of 10.41 in the 100m.
The meet concludes on Saturday. The competition will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
