Eight Track and Field Wildcats Earn All-SEC Honors
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Eight Kentucky track and field Wildcats earned All-Southeastern Conference Honors, and Jasmine Quinn was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, the league office announced on Monday.
Rebecca Famurewa, fresh off her first SEC Championship in the weight throw, earned first-team honors.
SEC Silver Medalists Jacob Thomson and Ariah Graham earned second-team honors. Javianne Oliver and Sha’Keela Saunders earned second-team recognition after they earned SEC Bronze Medals in the 60 meters and long jump, respectively.
UK’s Bronze Medal 4x400m relay of Graham, Destiny Carter, Jasmine Mitchell and Kiah Seymour also earned All-SEC honors.
Jasmine Quinn was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, as she was the top freshman finisher in the 60m hurdles.
2016 SEC Indoor Track and Field All-SEC Teams
The first team consists of the top finishers in each event at the SEC Championships. The second team consists of the second and third place finishers in each event. For award purposes, ties are not broken. The all-freshman team (one men’s and one women’s) consists of the highest freshman (true or redshirt) finisher in each event, excluding relays, and ties are not broken.
