UK Rifle Heads to West Point for First Matches of 2016
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 3 Kentucky rifle team will hit
the road for Great American Rifle Conference matchups with No. 10 Army on
Saturday and No. 12 North Carolina State on Sunday. Both matches will be held
at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.
The matches will begin at 9 a.m. ET.
The matches will be Kentucky’s first of the new year, after the Wildcats built
momentum during the fall portion of the campaign.

The No. 3 Wildcats enter the weekend undefeated at 7-0 and 4-0 in Great American
Rifle Conference competition with wins over current No. 1 West Virginia, No. 2
Murray State, No. 5 Alaska, No. 7 Ohio State, No. 8 Nebraska, No. 9 Memphis,
and five other teams in the CRCA Top-20, including Sunday’s opponent North Carolina State.
Freshman Hanna Carr will look to continue building on a solid debut season. Carr posted
tied-for the best individual aggregate score by anyone in the country in the
fall, 1186, along with the second best smallbore score of 591.
Army enters with a 2-5 record and 1-3 in the GARC and the Wolfpack come
in 6-3 on the year and 2-2 in the GARC.
