No. 11 Kentucky Faces First Road Test at No. 9 Louisville

LEXINGTON, Ky.  — The Kentucky men’s soccer team – up to No. 11 in this week’s TopDrawerSoccer.com poll – will face ninth-ranked Louisville on the road on Tuesday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Lynn Stadium. The match will be broadcast on ESPN3.com/WatchESPN.
The setup
Rarely have Kentucky and Louisville met in men’s soccer with both teams receiving such high ratings.
Kentucky enters the match with a record of 2-0-0 (W-L-D). Louisville is 2-1-0 this year.
Kentucky has come back from a goal down to win 2-1 in both of its matches this season.
Kentucky’s young front four has been a key in those comebacks with junior Napo Matsoso combining well with sophomores Noah Hutchins, Andrew McKelvey and Kevin Barajas on almost all of UK’s four goals this year.
Hutchins has scored equalizers two games in a row, giving him a team-high two goals in two games.
McKelvey scored the winner against Wright State last week, which was the first goal of his collegiate career.
The Opponent
Louisville has wins this year over William & Mary and Stony Brook and a loss at home to No. 8 Stanford.
Last season Louisville emerged winners in front of a record crowd at The Bell. After both teams traded goals within a 13-minute span after the hour mark, Louisville’s Tim Kubel scored the winner in the 78th minute.
Kentucky is 10-7-4 v Louisville all-time. Kentucky won the last time the two teams played in Louisville, 2-0 in 2012.
Match logistics
Louisville single match tickets are available through the Louisville Ticket Office or on match days at Lynn Stadium starting one hour prior to kickoff.
