SEC Network and ESPN Release 2015 National Soccer TV Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer program in conjunction with its partners at ESPN and the SEC Network released its 2015 national television slate on Thursday afternoon, featuring a minimum of three nationally-televised games on the SEC Network, including a non-conference clash against Wisconsin on Sept. 13 at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington.

In addition to the Wisconsin game, Kentucky will be featured on the SEC Network on Sept. 11 in Oxford, Miss., against the Ole Miss Rebels (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network, SECN+, Watch ESPN) and Sunday, Oct. 25 against the Tennessee Volunteers from Knoxville, Tenn. (5 p.m. ET, SEC Network, SECN+, WatchESPN).

An additional slate of games will be announced later by the SEC and ESPN, with those games being shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

“There are a multitude of privileges of being in the SEC, but the SEC Network is a special one,” UK head coach Jon Lipsitz said. “Our match with Wisconsin was one of only two non-conference matches to be nationally televised, and that is going to be a special match with major national implications at The Bell. This conference continues to develop, and I’m thrilled that we have partners at ESPN who are showcasing our athletes on the game’s biggest national platforms.”

The SEC Network will return to televise all eight matches of the 2015 SEC Tournament first round, quarterfinal and semifinal matches before ESPNU takes over to broadcast the SEC Tournament championship match on Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. ET.

ESPN and the SEC Network return some of the best soccer minds and voices to their coverage of SEC soccer this season, as three members of FOX’s Women’s World Cup broadcast crew are a part of the ESPN telecasts, in addition to ESPN’s two lead women’s soccer analysts. World Cup play-by-play announcers Glenn Davis and Jenn Hildreth join lead World Cup analyst Cat Whitehill, along with ESPN’s Kate Markgraf and Julie Foudy, who will all assist in covering women’s soccer in the SEC in 2015.

Kentucky recorded one of its biggest wins of the season on national TV last year, downing the No. 4 Florida Gators, 2-0 at the Bell Soccer Complex in front of a “White Out” crowd of 1,172. It was UK’s first win in program history over a top-five team.

The SEC Network will air eight consecutive weeks of SEC soccer at 7 p.m. ET, capping the regular season off with a doubleheader Thursday, Oct. 29 as SEC ‘Thursday Night Soccer’ returns for a second year. In addition, the SEC Network will air a doubleheader of volleyball and/or soccer every Sunday afternoon beginning Sept. 13, as UK vs. Wisconsin kicks that tradition off this season.

The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network which launched August 14, 2014. The new network and its accompanying digital platform carry SEC content 24/7 and featured more than 1,000 live events the first year. The network televises over 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men’s basketball games, 60 women’s basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events from across the SEC’s 21 sports annually. Programming includes in-depth commentary and analysis in studio shows, daily news and information, original content such as SEC Storied, spring football games, and more.
