LEXINGTON, Ky. – Led by junior David Snyder the Kentucky men’s golf team captured the UK Bluegrass Invitational crown in the regular-season finale on Wednesday.
Snyder took home individual honors after shooting a combined 3-over par on a blustery day on the Big Blue Course at the University Club. Snyder fired a tournament-low 1-over par, 73, in the opening round. On his second round of 18 on the afternoon he scored a 2-over par, 74. The junior led a 1-2-3 finish as the Wildcats cruised to the tournament win.
Freshman Cooper Musselman finished second with a tournament score of 4-over par. His best round of the day was a 73 in the second round.
Sophomore Stephen Stallings took home third place accolades with rounds of 76 and 75.
Playing as an individual, junior Todd McDaniel logged a fourth place finish. McDaniel was 8-over par for the tournament which included a 2-over par, 74, in the opening round.
With today’s regular-season finale completed, UK will now await its fate for a second-consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament. The 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships selections will be announced live via the Golf Channel Monday, May 4 during Morning Drive. Additionally, the show will be streamed live on the Golf Channel website and posted afterwards on the NCAA website at www.ncaa.com.
