CINCINNATI — The Kentucky track and field teams will send a select contingent of Wildcats, primarily made up of vertical jumpers and men’s distance runners, to Cincinnati’s Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Saturday.

The first event of Saturday that features a Wildcat starts at 10 a.m. ET, the women’s pole vault, where Michelle Canterna is slated to make her outdoor season debut. Brooks Divine is slated to compete in the men’s pole vault.

In total ten Wildcats are scheduled to compete this weekend.

Gabe Harm is scheduled to run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while three Wildcats — Tim Layten, Raine Wireman and Luke Sharkey — will run in the 1,500m.

Zack Beavin, Ryan Polman and Mick Iacaofano are entered in the 5k.

Eighteen men’s and 16 women’s teams are competing at the Nikoloff.

The majority of the Kentucky track and field teams’ are off this week, continuing to train for the outdoor season with one of the first major meets of the year — the Florida Relays coming up next weekend.

Earlier this week the UK women’s team was ranked preseason No. 5, while the men checked in at No. 22 in the preseason rankings.
