LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 11/11 Kentucky women’s basketball team will host an NCAA Tournament Selection Show Party on Monday, March 16 in Memorial Coliseum. Fans are welcome to join head coachMatthew Mitchelland his Wildcats as they wait their seeding for their 12th NCAA Tournament berth, including school-record sixth in a row. The program will be shown live on the big screen and doors will open to the general public at 6 p.m. ET with the selection show airing on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.
Fans who attend the selection show viewing party will receive free Papa John’s pizza and Coca-Cola products while supplies last.
After finishing the season 23-9 overall and currently sitting at No. 8 in the NCAA’s RPI and No. 2 in strength of schedule, Kentucky looks to be a lock to host the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament, as all of the top-16 seeds will receive the opportunity to host the opening weekend.
All E-Lots adjacent to Memorial Coliseum will be available for general public parking beginning at 4 p.m. ET. Should Employee Lots fill, additional parking will be available in the Transit Center Parking Garage (accessible near Lexington Avenue & High Street) for a nominal fee. No shuttle services will be provided for the event.
Kentucky (23-9, 10-6 Southeastern Conference) has compiled an outstanding resume this season which includes UK’s sixth consecutive 20-win season, a top-four finish in the league standings for the fifth straight season and wins over six nationally ranked opponents, including three over the top 10 (Baylor, Louisville and South Carolina). UK also had an impressive showing in the SEC Tournament last week, defeating Vanderbilt 67-61 in the second round before knocking off No. 11 Mississippi State in a dramatic 16-point second-half comeback, 76-67, in the quarterfinals.
UK will be appearing in its 12th NCAA Tournament, including school-record six in a row. UK has advanced to the Elite Eight in three of its last five tournament appearances. Kentucky has been a top four seed in its regional each of the last five seasons, advancing to the Sweet 16 in three-straight years, a school record.
Fans interested in UK Hoops NCAA Tournament tickets after the selection show can visit the Joe Craft Center ticket office Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. ET – 4 p.m. ET. Tickets will only be available online at ukhoopstix.com or by calling/visiting our ticket office. All session tickets will be available online Monday evening after the selection show and single session tickets will go on sale Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. ET.
