KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Kentucky diving team capped a strong showing with all three women’s divers finishing in the top nine for the third consecutive day Monday at the Tennessee Diving Invitational.
Monday, redshirt sophomore Rebecca Hamperian was fifth on platform, followed by seniors Christa Cabot and Lindsay Keahey, in sixth and eighth, respectively in the field of 30 divers. All three UK divers also notched top-nine finishes on 3-meter on Saturday and 1-meter on Sunday.
Saturday on the first day of the three-day meet, Hamperian placed second on 3-meter, while Keahey was eighth and Cabot ninth. Sunday, Cabot led UK with a third-place finish on 1-meter. Keahey was seventh and Hamperian eighth.
Hamperian led UK for the second time in three days with a 235.05, good for fifth place. Cabot was sixth with a 231.45, while Keahey earned a 228.30 to finish eighth.
For the UK men, freshman Levi Lindsey placed 14th in the men’s platform event with a 246.95. Senior Noah Richter placed 15th with a 230.00, and freshman Stephen Jou was 19th with a 150.30.
The UK swimmers open the 2015 season with a pair of road meets, with the women at Vanderbilt on Jan. 9 and the men at Virginia Tech on Jan. 10. The Wildcat divers will join the men in Blacksburg, Va.
